Active purification gloveboxes are used for working with highly air-sensitive samples that require very low (<1 ppm) levels of oxygen and/or moisture.

The nitrogen glovebox in room 1080 is suitable for most inert work that isn’t sensitive to nitrogen (nitrogen reacts with lithium).
